Why donate
All children have the right to thrive in a safe, stable and loving family. Children’s Aid has the, legal responsibility to keep children safe throughout the province and provides mandated services to protect and care for children. Although mandated services are funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, programs to enrich the lives of children rely on generous donations. In addition to protection services, Children’s Aid provides opportunities for children involved with or cared for by Children’s Aid to grow, develop and reach their full potential. Enrichment and education programs for children and youth are made possible through generous donations from corporations, organizations and individuals.

Who are donors
Donations can come from community members, parents, families, students, individuals, schools, businesses and corporations and can come in any size or form. Donors are welcome at any time throughout the year. Many local agencies offer scholarship programs, holiday giving programs, and host major fundraising events as opportunities for members of their local community to donate to a worthy cause.
Provincial programs for youth in care funded by donors include:
The Clark Bursary and Award provides ongoing support for youth pursuing post-secondary studies, as well as a one-time graduation gift.
The Clark Bursary and Awards provide contributions to children and youth in care in three ways:
- Clark Bursary Award – available to youth in care and former wards pursuing post-secondary education. Students attending university will receive $4,500 per year for up to four years and students attending college will receive $3,000 per year for two years (or three years depending on program).
- Clark Graduation Award – a gift of $1,000 for Clark Bursary recipients completing their post-secondary studies and a generous graduation present from the Clarks.
- Clark Grant Award – a one-time grant of $1,000 offered to young people who are pursuing educational, employment or skills development programs and require financial assistance. The grant is available for tuition, equipment, tools or other requirements.
Additionally, bursaries and scholarships have also been set up through the RONA Scholarship that provides youth pursuing post-secondary studies with a one-time scholarship for college or university.
